The story of Aplis begins with Peter Martins, a Portuguese immigrant who arrived in Canada with a strong work ethic, a passion for construction, and a vision of creating a better future for his family. Through determination, perseverance, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship, he founded Aplus General Contractors and began building a reputation for reliability, integrity, and excellence.

What started as a small construction business quickly grew through hard work, trusted relationships, and a dedication to delivering exceptional results. Peter believed that every project was more than a building—it was an opportunity to create something lasting for clients, communities, and future generations. Those values became the foundation of the company and continue to guide Aplis Global today.

Over the decades, Aplus General Contractors evolved from a construction-focused organization into a trusted partner on complex infrastructure, institutional, transportation, and community projects. The experience, knowledge, and relationships built during those years would ultimately lay the groundwork for the formation of Aplis Global and its expansion into property management, facility maintenance, construction, and development services.

A New Generation & Global Expansion

After nearly four decades of success in construction and infrastructure, the organization reached a defining milestone with its expansion into Europe. This strategic move broadened its reach beyond Canada, providing valuable international experience and exposure to new markets, industries, and operating environments.

That same year, Kaitlynn Martins, daughter of founder Peter Martins, joined the family business, bringing a fresh perspective and a vision for the future. Together, they began evolving the company beyond traditional construction toward a more integrated approach to real estate, asset management, and long-term value creation.

As the business entered this new chapter, the transition from Aplus to Aplis reflected its evolving identity. The change from a "U" to an "I" symbolized the company's focus on Innovation, Integration, Investment, and Impact, while honoring the legacy and reputation built over four decades.

The combination of international expansion and second-generation leadership laid the foundation for the creation of Aplis Global, setting the stage for its evolution into a fully integrated real estate operations company.

The Formation of Aplis Global

In 2020, decades of experience across construction, infrastructure, maintenance, and project delivery were brought together under a single vision with the formation of Aplis Global. What had been built through years of successful projects, trusted relationships, and operational expertise evolved into a unified organization positioned to provide comprehensive real estate and asset-focused services.

The creation of Aplis Global represented more than a rebrand—it marked a strategic transformation. By consolidating knowledge, resources, and capabilities developed over four decades, the organization established a stronger platform for growth, innovation, and long-term value creation. This new structure enabled the company to expand beyond traditional construction services and pursue a broader role in the ownership, management, maintenance, and development of real estate assets.
